nvidia gtx 280 or PS3?

Well since one is only a graphics card and the other is a whole console this is kinda like comparing apples to oranges really.

If it were me, I would get the PS3 purely because I prefer console games because they are guaranteed to work, no matter what because they are for that console. Where with a PC, it is never a guarantee that the PC game will work on your computer.

As far as the video card itself is concerned, Damn! That is one smokin' card! If I were to be a PC gamer, I would go with that! Totally!

I guess it all boils down to which you prefer to do more. If you prefer PC games, then definitely go with the card. If you are more into the console games, go with the PS3 (the reason I advocate the PS3 is it has more power, more features out of the box...no need for a bunch of crappy add-ons, and network gaming is 100% free).

Xbox360 beats ps3 most days of the week. Ive got a 360 so im bias but alot of my friends had xbox360's, changed to ps3, then converted back to 360's.

I think the GTX 280 are a waste of money atm. a high end 9 series or 8 series would play pc games at same resolution just as fast. The only difference is that the GTX is much more future proof.

I think buy high end 9 series or 8 series AND an xbox360(simpily because there cheaper and better)

Like some1 previously said, the xbox/ps3 won't come up with some reason why it won't play unlike PC's.

My spec clearly outshines the Gears of war PC minimum spec. but it comes up with stuff saying that my spec isn't good enough!! its even stumped the technician when i ring up for help.

actually PS3 ! i be attentive to GTX280 is a grate card. yet you won't be in a position to conquer the PS3 with a huge television with embody sounds. whether pc factors are changing each and each month, you will discover a clean picture card each and every 3 moths. So after an year or 2 your gaming rig is going to be rubbish. additionally think of with regard to the instruments you will discover on the PS3. yet whilst your television is sucks and would not have a stable sound equipment choose for the GTX 280

I would go with the nvidia. With the PS3, you are pretty well relegated to playing games, and playing DVDs with a couple of exceptions. By installing the nvidia gtx on that fancy system you have, you can do much more than a PS3. Why not install the nvidia card, download a PS3 emulator, and enjoy the best of both worlds on your computer?

if you're into first person shooters on pc then get the gtx280 without a doubt. whats your cpu by the way? is is overclocked to 3.1ghz? either way you dont have a 6.2ghz cpu.....but anyway,

get the card and run crysis on very high (if you have vista) it blows anything on the ps3 out the water in terms of graphics.

just make sure your psu has a 6 pin and 8 pin pci-e power connector.

the ps3 is a great machine however and ive you've got a dirty big lcd tv then playing motorstorm is a treat, plus you get a blu-ray player.

get the graphics card your computer specs are crazy and you would be able to play crysis on full res, the 280 is soooo much better that a console because a console graphics are noway near as good as even a 8800gt card so the 280 is rediculisly better than any console on the market. hope you make the write choise
