any advice for a wanna be guitar player?

i want to start learning guitar but i have two big problems.

-no guitar-no teacher-

i'm pretty sure i could teach myself but is there any advice for actually buying a guitar and teaching myself.

also, is there any difference between a classical guitar and an acoustic guitar?

    First off... you need to buy a guitar obviously! You can get a great beginner set-up through either the guitar center or musicians friend. Check them out at www.guitarcenter.com or musiciansfriend.com

    Next, join jamplay.com. It is $19.99 a month and totally worth it. It is the best site in my opinion for beginner and intermediate guitar players. I am interviewing to be an instructor this week so I can be teaching you within the month!
