I have a 42" lcd tv that weighs 53lbs. I found a wall mount that says from 17"-40" with 80lb. capacity. ?

The overall size (width is 41'). Will it work?

    Most LCDs use a standard VESA mount (VESA 200-400).

    Check the mount specs for your TV and compare with the one you found.

    The weight count more. The bracket can carry your LCD TV. However, your problem will be the nmounting holes in your TV. See if it will fit the holes. If you are resourceful you can find some bracket extender if the hole won't fit.

    No, the bracket is not wide enough to mount onto the screw holes on your television. This has nothing to do with weight.
