Actually it's being postponed from Nov. to July 17, 2009.

It's not because of financial problems...definitely not that. WB is the same company that distributed The Dark Knight, Get Smart, and tons of other big money making films including the Harry Potters. So money is definitely not something that they have a problem with.

But it does have to do with money, WB wasn't expecting to make so much on The Dark Knight, so they decided to move their next huge blockbuster film to the Summer of 2009 so that they could have that money added to the 2009 total. Because of the Writer's Strike there are not alot of new films coming out in 2009.

Well first, its being delayed to July, not January.

And its not because of finacial problems. Warner Bros. thinks since they've had such a successful year, Harry Potter doesn't have to come out in 2008. But since they don't have many big movies coming out in 2009, they decided to save it for next year. They think they'll make more money during the summer. I think its rubbish!

It's been pushed back to July 17th, 2009 because Warner Bros. wants it to be a summer blockbuster so they can make more money.

I think the popular reason these days is Radcliffe is in that play Equus and his wang is in it so it will interfere with the HP fans.
