Why is it that sometimes a question says 2 or 3 days left to answer...?
but when I attempt to post an answer, it has suddenly changed to resolved (and a best answer chosen)?
Did the person asking the question resolve it before waiting for the time limit? Or is the time limit being displayed incorrectly? This has happened quite frequently so I end up wasting time answering a question which I then cannot post.

It could be that the asker decided to choose a best answer. Sometimes they get back to their question two days later to see how many answers they got.
