R&P: Time questions?

Time Paradox questions?

Alright. In theory...

I have a time machine, and I build on the 1st of January, 2007. In such time machines, you can only travel back to the time you built the machine and onwards while it is operational. Well, if this worked, in theory, then from the moment it is operational, infinite objects, travelers, and people should come through at once. We should recieve an amazing flow of letters, items etc. And people. Let's say I want to go back to the day I built it and make adjustments because I am more educated. I go back to January 1st. Any change I make in that dimension could not be in my reality, right? It would be impossible for two things to exist at once in a true dimension. So i would be in a different dimension. That would result in infinite universes, right? How would I get back to my own universe? If there are infinite dimensions, then why isn't there more contact with other parallel universes?

How many parallel universes are there? Which would i be transferred to? And how is it possible to stop someone from dying. If the year now was 2023, and i wanted to go back to 2014 to stop a friend from dying, and bring him back, then how would the abscence in the 7 years of death be filled?

I just want some clearer views on time paradox's and theories. So if you could just tell me all you know about it, or a quick summary, I would appreciate it. My questions were kind of rants, but i am immensly curious. Thanks!

This is, indeed, why they call it a paradox!

    That was quite confuzzling!

Yes, I think I agree with you, it seems possible that there would be an infinite number of dimensions. The reason why contact with other parallel universes haven't occurred, I don't think we'll ever know.

If you went back to save a friend from dying, that means that the seven years would be erased into nothing, and I suppose the only thing that you keep is your mind, and everything else reverses? I am honestly not sure of what you are capable of when you go back in time...Therefore we will never get a real answer.

"Any change I make in that dimension could not be in my reality, right?"

I don't think so. Even small changes could drastically effect your 'old' future ~ the butterfly effect ~ but if you stay back in Jan. 1st, and live up to now again, then I guess that's a whole 'nother life. But... what happens to the you that came back? You disappeared and were never heard from ~ a huge mystery! And if you go back to 2014 and change that past, then a new line starts, one where your friend is alive, and again, you've simply disappeared from the year 2023.... Or so *I* think ;-)

    My brain explode.

Now, you couldn't do that because if you were in 2023 it would have already happened because you did it in 2014 so yeah it's really confusing.

here's my thought: if any1 goes through time, there'll be a rip in the universe and we're gonna go through a timeless period of chaos where we see people from all times and in that mayhem, we all kill each other. but since there's no time, we can't die and this happens FOREVER

As to the Time question, I can't offer any insight, as there are too many theories about such things. Although, this guy has some nice explanations on the subject..........

did you know that Tesla has a song called "Time", and it has an intro that is very similar to Pink Floyd's "Time"?

also, their song Edison's Medicine refers to the "Man out of time"
