If you can afford it -- do it. With prices down, it is a good time to buy. Remember that you will be responsible for a monthly mortgage payment, real estate taxes, common charge and utilititites.
Make sure it is a good resale unit (size, location) so it appreciates well and there is always that annual tax deduction.

you should always use protection wether your single or not! sorry couldnt help myself. i dont know sory it depends on so many factors
