How do I stop chkdsk from running?

Every time I restart my computer it insists on running chkdsk on one of my hard drives. I've skipped it a few times and actually let it run its course a couple of times. The drive is fine from what I can tell. What I'd like to know is how to unflag the drive for scanning on bootup.

I'm running Windows XP Pro if that makes any difference.

Update:

I have let it run all the way through at least half a dozen times.

Update 2:

Umm, no my drive isn't using the FAT32 file system. Basically what I'm really looking for is a way to unflag the dirty bit for that partition.
