Update:

Obama has been running as a democrate canidate for so long I don't remember when it started but if you use his name spell check will flag it and ask you if you meant ABM

This has been going on for about a year now, whats the deal?

I'm sure they use a generic spell-checker without proper names.

As an experiment, I'm going to type all the Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates names and see what happens.

    ORIGINAL LIST:

    Barack Obama (Democratic Presidential nominee)

    Joseph Biden (Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee)

    John McCain (GOP Presidential nominee)

    Sarah Palin (GOP Vice-Presidential nominee)

    Bob Barr (Libertarian Presidential nominee)

    Ralph Nader (independent Presidential nominee)

    Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Presidential nominee)

    Cynthia McKinney (Green Presidential nominee)

Wayne Allen Root (Libertarian Vice-Presidential nominee)

    Rosa Clemente (Green Vice-Presidential nominee)

    Darrell Castle (Constitution Vice-Presidential nominee)

    YAHOO'S CHANGES:

Ba rack ABM (Democratic Presidential nominee)

Joseph Bi den (Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee)

    Sarah Plain (GOP Vice-Presidential nominee)

    EDIT:

After the experiment, it appears they just need to add Biden, Obama and Palin. If they don't have any proper names in there, I'm not sure why McCain passes since it's not a first name or a common word on its own. "Cain" as in "raising Cain", yes, but not "McCain". Interesting that none of the 3rd party folks get bounced. :)

With all the coffee breaks they take you'd think by name they would have caught up with names that are in our every-day language.
