tradition for girl scouts?

I'm the new leader of a 3rd grade brownie troop. I was in the brownies when I was in elementary school, but I'm afraid that's been a long time ago. Does anyone have any information about traditional stuff we're supposed to do at meetings? i know there's something about holding 3 fingers up and saying the brownie promise. lol. That's about all I've got. Ive got information on activities and stuff like that.

Yes - holding your middle three fingers up (and together) is the girl scout sign, and it's the girl scout promise that they recite. Having a flag ceremony to start the meeting is always good. I like to have an American flag and a Girl Scout flag. Then you can assign duties to the girls. they can alternate being the flag bearers and (depending on the size of your troop) you can assign girls to lead in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the Girl Scout Promise (you could do the Girl Scout law too, but it's a bit lengthy, and it has changed since we were in scouts) go to Girlscouts.org for more tips, also try googling Girl Scout Songs... you will find lots of awesome fun song to teach them there - I did!
