Did you try to learn guitar without a teacher and then give up or get frustrated etc?

I would like to hear about the failures or frustrations. All the free stuff is nice, but isn't it great to sit down with someone and have them help you, and to answer your questions?

I totally agree: I've been taking guitar lessons for 3 1/2 years. And when I first started out-when I didn't have a teacher and tried teaching myself-I couldn't even imagine playing certain songs now.

Lessons are probably the best investment I made. I love it!

    Yes.

I am self-taught, and frequently get frustrated because I don't know what to practice, or can't figure out certain musical styles. This is when it's helpful to get input from a knowledgable player, or consult a book.
