Do you have to have an intercooler with a turbo?
i want a turbo with my 240sx and can afford it but do i have to install an intercooler too? if i do i cant afford it then:( so could i just put a turbo first then an intercooler later?

you dont have to...but it is better..usually its an air to air intercooler which passes in front of the radiator to cool the air before it goes to the turbo!

It would be better to have an inter-cooler installed if you have the money. It lowers the temp of the compressed air which makes for more H.P. But If you can't put both on then the turbo w/o the
inter-cooler is better than nothing.

save up on your money till you get a good kit. the turbo is taking your exhaust to spin the turbo and its taking your hot exhuast gases into your engine. so your going to raise your engine temp. a cooler running engine is a better engine. you've probably noticed that the exhaust, coming yout your tailpipe is really hot.. you dont want that running into your engine. but to answer your question you dont have to have one but i sure wouldnt advise it
