What kind of Intel Core processor, Memory, and Hard-drive do I need?

I know nothing about computers and I am looking to build a computer. I will do a little bit of everything on it. I will search the web, play games, listen to music, watch movies, work on excel and word. So can anyone direct me to a site or anything that will let me compare or tell me about it?

The faster you want your computer to be, the more RAM (system memory) you want. 3 Gigabytes is essentially as much as you'll need, unless you want to play high-end games. If you want to do a lot of multitasking, that's where the processor comes into play. A better processor with more GHz will also increase system response. The current best processor is Intel Core 2 Duo. Graphics cards (video cards) improve the performance of games and movies. The size of the hard drive really just depends on how much content you want on your computer. If you're going to download tons of movies and ind install a lot of games, I'd highly suggest 250 to 320 Gigs (or similar). The computer manufacturers' websites usually allow you to view the stats of different computer models(system memory, monitor size, graphics card, etc.) so you can compare them to other models.
