Montreal trip, Sept. 12-14. What to do? Where to eat?

I plan on staying in the city center. Looking for ethnic neighborhoods, lesser known reasonable restaurants, and interesting things to do...it is my first time there! Please assist!

There are a lot of things you could check out. First, just walking down St Catherine street is fun for shopping and just getting a feel for the city. You can also head down to China town, and then further down to the Old Port. Going to Prince Arthur street is also fun. It's a bit further north (Sherbrooke metro and walk west or St Laurent metro and walk north) or you could walk it too. It's a pedestrian only street filled with restaurants, cafes, etc. Walking up St Laurent itself is also fun. Lots of shops, fashion, more funky clothes, etc. If you are interested in funky things, Mont Royal metro is a cool place. And no trip is complete without a walk around/up Mont Royal!

    Have a good trip!

Hey I wanna be your husband. haha. Seriously, divide a while among two or at such a lot three French towns so you will not must spend your whole time on a bus or coach. Train rides get ancient rather quick. Don't overpack garments-- there aren't any porters at any fee on the coach stations and it's flawlessly applicable amongst French ppl to put on the equal blouse/outfit two-three days in a row and the equal pair of denims for plenty of days in a row. I'd advocate Paris and Nice (fly to Nice, the air fare within Europe is not too dangerous in this day and age in contrast to within the Nineteen Eighties). Paris is a town vigorous and you'll be able to take a bus excursion (statement in English) for only two hrs after which you'll be able to return to the designated web page that you just wanna spend extra time in. Nice is proper at the Med and has beautiful orange timber lining the streets. Plenty of shores too. Great seafood, amazing museums (visited via neighborhood ppl too, no longer simply American and Canadians) and Roman ruins that you'll be able to stroll proper as much as (admission charged, however valued at it).. A lot of travelers fail to spot Nice. Outside of Nice is a village known as Biot (bee-oh) popular for lovely glass items which don't seem to be excessively high-priced. Many of those models are avail. best in Biot and no longer even in Paris. Glass pitchers, vases, fragrance bottles, cleaning soap dishes, and many others. I am no longer a homemaker and loved simply watching at those.
