Help! Why does my computer hang/freeze when I open Limewire/iTunes/Sims2, but works fine with other programs?

My computer hangs/freezes when I try to run those programs, but it works fine when I work with other programs like Encarta, MS Office, web browsers and media players.

I've tried different anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and updated my video drivers, but those don't seem to solve the problem.

And all of those programs ran perfectly before.

Hi Greg, I can't remember what I (or my family, coz we share the computer) did, but I'm sure I didn't install any Windows Update immediately before that.
