What things have you done to help your child sleep better?

Im not a fan of the CIO method, and Im debating whether or not to actually try it( in moderation) My 6 month old is just not sleeping well. He wakes frequenlty, still eats 1-2 bottles a night, and doesnt sleep long or seem to want to stay in his crib. Im so tired from working and not getting a good nights rest.

A ROUTINE was the very best thing I ever did!! My twins are now 11 weeks old and they both sleep from 7PM to 7AM waking just once for a bottle at 3:30 or 4AM.

I highly recommend the Baby Whisperer books to help give you some guidance on a humane, loving way to get your little boy on a routine--note that I am not saying "schedule". The key points are to give them an activity after eating, to feed them at regular times, be *sure* they are getting naps in the daytime (daytime sleep begets nighttime sleep), and have a bedtime routine. Our bedtime routine is a bath, a cuddle, maybe a book, and then bed--always within a half hour of the same time every day.

    Good luck!

Your baby could be teething! My kids always had problems sleeping at night when they were starting to get their teeth in even before you see the lil spot on the gums. Or my kids too if you've given them a sampling of table food could have gas and that would keep them up crying too.
