I found these plates at good will but would like to know where to get them new.?

They are Black shell shaped dishes I have 6 of each small bowl large bowl small plate and large plate. They have no markings but I would like to know where to find them new as a set. What brand they are and everything I can about them.

I've looked on ebay and I have the full set. The reason that I am asking if because I need to know if they are dishwasher safe and microwave safe. All that stuff. And yes I am asuming I can eat off them.....of course.

    These are black vitreous china - made in Italy by Arcopal in the 1980s. Try looking on eBay Italy (I have left you the link) and put "vetro nero" in the search box. You will find a lot of octagonal black glass items, but among them, you might get lucky. Or you might try putting "black Arcopal" in your normal eBay search box and see what happens. You might even try "Arcoroc" which is a French company that makes similar glass objects.

    When you hold them up to a bright light source do they look purple? If they do it's called amethyst glass. A type of depression glass. If this is the case they might be really hard to find, because they stopped producing a lot of this old glass (milk glass, cobalt, greenware ect.) many years ago. Good Luck

    I have similiar plates but they are a deep brown and it looks like it is gold plated from the back. They are glass and look for a very small raised print on the backside.The letters are tiny.

    I think they are from the 30s, art deco but them I maight be wrong.
