File transfer from mac to mac?

What is the fastest way to transfer a 4 Gigabyte file from a mac into another mac?

    Ethernet. If no network is available, just copy it to a flash drive or a DVD.

    I would use a USB thumb drive to transfer the file its the fastest and safest way!

    upload it onto a file share server.

    I usually put that kind of stuff on a USB. You can pick them up for like $10 at staples.
