Will towing a FWD car without front axles in mess up wheel bearings?

The car does not have a transmission and will be rope towed 8 miles. Without the front axles in will it mess up the wheel bearings or do they need to be put in the hubs and rope tied off?

the clunking noise could be the cv joints wore out (axle shaft ) the grinding noise may be the front wheel bearings they are called front hub bearings and often whilst they flow undesirable you will hear a roar coming from the two ingredient reckoning on which one is undesirable.
