Is there a way to connect a dvr to my computer?

I have a Dish DVR, and there are several things on it I really don't want to lose. Is there a way to connect it to my computer to burn dvds of those things? It has a USB port in the back, can I just use a long USB cord, or do we need other things, too?

It appears that you can connect your DVR to your home network, which would link it up to the internet. I found a link that talks about software that you can use to copy over material off the DVR (included in the sources).

If you go to any search engine, and type in "connect DVR to computer", you should get a myriad of information. I also found a pdf from DirecTV about linking your DVR up to your home network.

strongly doubt it in spite of if were available it should be more desirable of a difficulty to make it artwork than to move the dvr or the computer itself even if it really is even available it would in all possibility decide on a software or the dvr would must have indexing and performance lan connection
