How bad is the Big 10 in Football ?

and how many points will Ohio St get beat by USC this weekend?

Update:

Ok...the Big 10 went undefeated this weekend....but how many of them played a BCS conference school......0..

Penn St. please..LOL...please you beat the worst team in the Pac 10...jump for joy...you have a coach that age is older than his whole team if you added them all up together.

Update 3:

Penn St Non Con Sched..

Coastal Carolina

Oregon State

Syracuse

Temple

Combined Record This year....1-7

Thats a joke.

They are very bad. Penn State did crush Oregon State but Oregon State is probably 7th or 8th in the Pac-10 this year & Penn State is 3rd or 4th in the Big-10. That doesn't show a lot. A game that will matter is when USC crushes Ohio State next week. These are the top team in each conference and that does mean something. Forget what all these Big-10 fans say. The Big-10 has been the most overrated conference in the last decade.

Unfortunately (I'm usually a Big 10 fan), they haven't been very good since the 60's. Who knows why. When you think of all the talent in places like Chicago, Ohio and Michigan you gotta wonder how three or four Big 10 teams aren't in the top 10 every year.

Maybe when the Big 10 dropped down to being the Big 2 during the 70's the rest of the teams gave up any thoughts of being better than second tier. Of course of the Big 2 there's only one left standing -- and how good are they given that they've lost the last two championships by lop-sided scores?

In any event, every year they're better than the ACC and at least one other BCS conference (this year it's definitely the Big East). And of course even though they're not in the same league as the SEC football-wise, at least the schools themselves are good (unlike the SEC, which is basically Vanderbilt, Tennessee and a bunch of glorified junior colleges). That's gotta be worth something, no?!

The big ten hasn't been good since the 70's!!! Ha ha! That is rediculous, look at OSU, Michigan, Penn State records and the big tens records against other conferences period. Maybe the issue is you haven't watched football since the 60's retod... Drag your black and white tube tv out and rent some VCR tapes and watch some games in the 80's and 90's to catch up for starters and you may have some new material so you don't look completely useless in these blogs with your idiotic rantings. OSU beats LSU last year and I wouldn't have to worry about this crap. Of course people think a 14 point loss is a blow out anymore. OSU blew it last year when they could have took the lead in the 4th qtr when they were driving. LSU fans were scared but they escaped with the win in the end. I am sorry if you came out of a coma but other than that I'm sorry for your ignorance.

The Big 10 may have storied programs but these programs are still playing 1970's and 1980's type football. The college game has changed so much and the Big 10 is stuck in the past. They need to recruit more speed to compete with the USC's and SEC teams of the world. USC will destroy Ohio State this week. Ohio State may not score against that USC defense.

  • The better question is, "how bad is the Pac-10, including USC, against the Big-10".

Answer: really bad. (Just this past weekend; Penn State 45, Oregon State 14). Didn't Oregon State go 18-4 in the Pac-10 in just the last 2 seasons combined? (yes)...

...quite ballsy of you to call out the Big-10 when you're a Pac-10 fan, and they are the worst conference in the nation. The Pac-10 is the only conference that has just one team (and sometimes, if you're very very lucky, a mediocre Oregon squad).

Source(s): USC will beat OSU, but the Big-10 still dominates the Pac-10 (as does just about every other conference). Edit; ...Oregon State's the worst teams in the Pac-10! LOL! Ok, so at least I've been able to determine that you know nothing about college football. They are one of your top 5 (not right now after opening 0-2, but I bet you they'll almost win out the rest of their Pac-10 schedule)! They have 18 wins in the last 2 seasons thanks to being in your weak conference! I believe they finished 4th or 5th in the Pac-10 last year, and just a couple of years ago they were in the top 5 national rankings in November! You have the freedom to say whatever you want, but at least use some facts please...the numbers don't lie, and it won't change the fact that the Pac-10 is a one-team conference, and that one team has more than a good chance of losing to OSU. I mean, why again haven't they made it to the NC recently?...oh, that's right!...they LOST TO STANFORD, hahaha! USC is no exception to the rule, and the Pac-10 is still horrible. And as for knocking our non-conference schedule, well, it's not PSU's fault that the Pac-10 & Big East blow. Yes, C.Carolina was a cupcake and Temple (although they are one of the better MAC teams this year, and EVERY TEAM in the nation schedules one or two easy wins a year) is relatively easy, but don't fault the nittany lions for the Pac-10 & the Big East being complete pushovers...it's not our fault that we're 23-11 vs. your pee wee conference ;)

So far, the Big 10 isn't looking like the Powerhouse they used to be. OSU barley escapes with a win, UM is horrible but the other teams seem to be making up for it but not by much. I'll bet only 3 Big Ten teams make it to major Bowl games this year.

Ah, the Milkshake man said it very well. I was at the PSU game on Saturday...and it was brutal. All the OSU fans left after halftime.

I still haven't figured out why the Big Ten has such a reputation for being terrible when they have some of the most storied College football teams...

The Big Ten ( little 11) is very freaking bad. They make me wanna puke when I see their highlights ( or lack of).
