you really need a criminal defense lawyer to get the violation reduced or a alternative to a conviction, some places wont even hesitate to throw you in the hooscow

I have fought every ticket that I have ever received...and honestly I usally lose. However, there has been a couple of occansions where the cop didn't show up and they had to throw it out. Now, to answer all of your questions...In regards to your fines, it depends on what state you live in. The fact that you have a ticket previously has nothing to do with this one. Most likely your license isn't going to be taken away, but if you have had a lot of points put on your license, I would recommend you take defensive driving, this will help your odds. In regards to fighting the ticket, your going have to pick apart the police officer that pulled you over. Did he get the time right? Is the street he pulled you over on, writen on the ticket? Were you coming off an off ramp, maybe thats why he clocked speeding because you were actually slowing down. Your job is to prove him wrong. Last thing is, when ever a cop pulls you over the first thing they ask is, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" If you said yes, and admitted guilt, then yes mostly likely you have no chance. Because thats all the cop is going to have to say to the judge and he will side with the cop. And by the way, I know Karma said if you take it to court they will usally cut you a deal. In my experience, they tack on additional charges, like court cost. Usally anywhere between $30 to $80. Good Luck.
