Yu-Gi-Oh! - I Need an Expert Opinion Please!!!?
Ok, the thing is I really want to make a new deck but I'm not too sure what kind to make. I have a few ideas in mind and I need to be re-assured in what would be the best deck to focus on before I start hunting down the rest of the cards I need.
The main decks that I have my mind set on making are:
~Macro-Monarch~
I have pretty much everything I need if I were to make this deck. I would still need a couple of things but it's pretty much done. The question I keep asking myself though, "Is it competetive enough?"
~Anti-Meta~
I Have a Fossil-Dyna and some other stuff but I would need to hunt down a few more things If I would be making this. The thing is that this would stand a better chance against the decks of today.
~Lightsworn~
Ok, I have a short, amazing story to tell you. This happened just recently, and is what inspired me to make Lightsworn.
I went down to the gaming store I go down to for the weekly tournament as usual and I was there early and no other players were there yet. So, I got really bored and decided to buy something, so I did. I got a Stardust Dragon Tin. In the packs I pulled; 2 Rares, 1 Ultra and 2 Secrets - 1 of the secrets, A "Judgment Dragon!" That was only the beginning.
One of the Packs I won in the tounament was a Light of Destruction, and in it was an Ultra "Solar Recharge". I thought it was pretty cool that I was getting all these Lightsworn cards, I hadn't even considered making Lightsworn yet.
Later on in the day, just co-incidently, I made some trades that resulted in me getting 1 each of "Lyla" & "Celestia".
That's when I thought that it was a sign, I was 'chosen' to make Lightsworn. lol ^_^
So I had my mind set on that and just for fun I bought a Light of Destruction Special Edition Box hoping to get something good...
Unbelivable! An "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk", I was not expecting that!
Pulling 3 Secrets in one day, and 2 of them being Lightsworn, not to mention the Ultras aswell.
Anyway, that concludes my little story. But I do really need help! Please!!!!! I'm not sure which deck to make and I need to know which one I should set my sights on first!
So if anyone could please give me some advice on why I should play one of these and include a good decklist with it too, that would be sooo awesome I wouldn't be able to thank you enough!

Geez I wish I had your luck. I am never ever that lucky. I can never get what I want. I bought an entire case of Phantom Darkness, which cost me a hell of a lot of money, and I couldn't even pull a Dark Armed Dragon or Darklord Zerato, 2 of the main reasons I bought the case in the first place. This one time I had bought 10 packs of the newest Champion Pack and my friend has only bought 3 and I got no holos and he ends up getting a holo Gravekeeper's Spy. I get lucky once in a blue moon. This one time I bought 5 Champ Packs and pulled 2 holo Giant Germs, a holo Magical Merchant, and the Ultra Rare of the set, Fiend's Sanctuary.
Anyway, enough about my shitty luck. Macro Monarchs is the cheap way to go, but won't really compete competitively. It'll help you in little local tournaments, but I don't think it'll help you much in a Regional or Shonen Jump.
Anti-Meta is a good choice, but people have tried it already and it just doesn't work consistantly enough to help you win.
Lightsworn is definitely the way to go, but will cost you a lot of money to make. You need 1 more Judgment Dragon, 3 Honest, 1 more Ehren, 2 more Solar Recharge, at least 1 more each of Celestia, and Lyla, and 3 Ryko. The 1 card I left out is probably one of the most important cards for this deck to work. You need 3 Charge of the Light Brigade, which will cost you about $450 for a set. I am dying to make a Lightsworn deck myself, but don't have the money to buy them and sure as hell don't have the luck to pull them from packs.
So your best bet if you don't have the money is to go with Macro Monarchs. It's cheap and will be competitive enough to win duels on a consistant basis.
However, if you are rich and money isn't a matter, then Lightsworn is your best bet by far.

Well I usually have that kind of luck the 1st time I open the pack like the first time I opened an Ancient Sanctuary I got Archlord Zerato, the first time I opened an Elemental Energy I got E-Hero Tempest, and there was one more but I forgot but I once pulled 2 rares from 1 Dark Revelation pack I pulled a rare Dramatic Resue and a Super Rare Paladin of White Dragon. but I would go with whichever deck u think is the best because if you go with somebody elses deck choice they could end up screwing you up in the long run.

Make a theme deck, like attribute or monster type using cards BEFORE GX OR D5.
Believe me, it works wonders.
( You can use structure decks)

choose lightsworn because they are mostly level four and can swarm on the field they are used to counter dad decks and glad beast having judgment dragon in the deck is powerful because he wipes out the entire field and attack for game hope this helps
