Who was Captain Picard's right hand man (or woman)?

Much like how Spock was Captain Kirk's go to guy when he needed assistance, who was Picard's go to person? Data? Riker? Troi? LaForge? Beverly? Wesley??? Whoopi Goldberg?????

    Well, yes, Riker was his first officer. But when he really needed advice or moral guidance, I'd say he went to Guinan as much as anyone.

    dude, everyone knows Number 1 was Commander Riker! hence why he would always say "make it so number one"
