I want to ride #7 Subway to Shea Stadium. Where can I park at Woodside or Main Street Flushing?

I'm coming from Long Island. I'm leaving from after work and the Long Island railroad schedules aren't convenient without my missing the first 30-45 minutes of the game. I'm hoping I can drive directly from work on Long Island and park near a subway station.

You can't really park in Woodside..there's not much space to park around here. Also, same thing in Flushing, unless you're willing to pay. There is a parking lot in front of Shea Stadium that you can park in but you'll have to pay for that.

For free parking, forget it. The Main Street and Woodside areas are congested 24 hours a day.

That said, there is a, unmanned metered municipal parking lot a few blocks from the #7 train near the Flushing LIRR station at Main and 41st Streets. Unfortunately I don't know if there is a time limit but I imagine a lot of people who take the LIRR park there. With any luck you'll be able to get a spot as people will be coming from from work on LI to go home from Flushing.

From there you can either walk two blocks to the #7 Train or the #48 bus, both of which go right to Shea Stadium.

There is also another Municipal lot at 37th Avenue and Union Street. The posted rates for both of these lots are:

    6am to 10pm (Monday - Saturday)

    $0.25 per 15 minutes; $4.00 Maximum: 12 hour limit

    8am to 10pm (Monday - Saturday)

$0.25 per 15 minutes: 3 hour parking limit

You can pay in cash or with a credit card.

Main street is a big busy street. YOu'll never be able to park there cause there are parking meters all over that place. YOu are better off parking in a side street in Woodside or Flushing.

My friend, the link below is a map of the Woodside area around the #7 subway line and LIRR Main Line.

    Good luck
