He voted against the GI Bill.

Being a veteran, one would think he'd be in support of that.

There are a lot of veterans groups.

They are all over the political spectrum and some of them are nuts.

Some of the so-called "veterans bills" in the current Congress were bad legislation that were opposed by the military for very good reasons.

Most of the Democrats, including Obama, didn't have the sense to understand what was wrong with the bills.

They were just anxious to pass some sort of bill for political reasons so they could say they were "for veterans" when they were running for office.

The Republicans beat down the bad bill, and worked with moderate Democrats and the military to pass a much better bill.

Now that you know the REAL story, you should vote for McCain if you care about America's veterans.

He does what's RIGHT for THEM and the military and TAXPAYERS.

yes, he got a 20% vote rating from the Disabled American Veterans, and the Vietnam Veterans of America said he had voted against them in 15 key votes. He was also against the recent GI Bill for education of Veterans, before he voted for it. I think that O'bama has an 80% rating or so. 20% is pretty low. For a veteran himself, and all his talk, he doesn't seem to vote well on Veterans issues. Don't know if the link below will work.

Very very true. Obama votes for veterans benefits and McCain does not. Someone needs to do some research.
