I'm not so sure about the lying part, because he was pretty outspoken about not supporting it.

But his reason for not supporting it deserves further inquiry.

The bill promised enhanced college benefits for Vets, including room, board and book costs. McCain voted against it because he felt it would cause a shortage of soldiers, since they would leave the service instead of re-upping.

Imagine that! Soldiers serving their time, and leaving the service to take advantage of the promise that our country makes to them. How horrible!

McCain was educated at the Naval Academy, which he didn't have to pay for. Yet, he's against making sure our returning soldiers have access to college that they don't have to pay for. Is it any wonder he graduated near the bottom of his class?

Actually McCain voted against the Senates version of the GI Bill.

Because it did not include a provision, to allow members of the military, to transfer their GI Bill benefits to family members.

You did notice, that the provision to allow the transfer, was included in the Conference committee final bill that was passed by the house and senate and signed by the president.

Actually he did not vote against it

It'll take you five seconds to find out what he did do and why

    =================

    Come on

Nobody has five seconds to actually educate themselves on the matter

He did not vote for or against the bill

He skipped the vote and stayed in California to campaign

Hopefully that has gotten someone's curiosity up enough to go find out why

When a bill is first introduced it has tons of pork barrel projects on it, McCain voted no on all the initial bills, but on the final bill he voted yes.

When did he say that? If he did then he's a liar along with George Bush who said he'd voted for it.

Because he is a flip-flopping liar and he always has been.

Here is a man running for president making statements that he is "going to turn this country around", but turns around and makes praises to the Bush Administration the wonderful job he has done with this country and how good of shape this country is in!

Please provide a source that shows McCain saying that he voted for it? He was very outspoken and against it from it's conception. He never lied about it and never lied about why.

    Try again.

The same reason he made movies for his captors in Hanoi Hilton blaming the American armed forces for all the problems and deaths associate with the war, then claims to be a war hero.
