Did the Rays just prove??
Just prove that they are still in this thing with this win over Boston or what???
Everyone on that team contributes...I mean when Dan Johnson, Fernando Perez, and Dioner Navarro beat Papelbon thats a team with heart.
These past three years of baseball have been great and I hope the Rays make to the WS.
Just to clarify I'm not necessarily a Rays fan. I'm a Dodgers fan who appreciates the underdog in any situation. I liked the Cards and their crappy regular season record winning. I looooved the Rockies last year. And I'm rooting for the Rays this year. I agree Papelbon may have been worn out after 2 consecutive non-save outings.

Yes they are definitely still in it. I am a Rays fan and have been for years. I've even met most of them. They are very down to earth guys. They deserve it. They have had people rooting against them for a long time and all it does is give them incentive to win. So all you haters keep doubting them, expect them to lay down and give it to Boston. They are going to fight for it.
Yeah Johnson, first bat as a Rays came through big. Against one of the better closers in the game, worn out or not. Big game you have to come through in that situation. Fernando Perez is bad on those bases isn't he? He might even be faster than Crawford! If it wouldn't have been at Fenway, it would have been gone too. Navi, (Navarro) has been doing this all year.
Don't count them out, they are real.
Oh yeah you gotta give some credit to Kazmir too, he pitched a good game.
By the way the Rays closer Percival hasnt been pitching that great lately either so they had a good chance to come back, but couldn't.

It proves now they get out of Boston with the lead no matter what. It proves the Rays won't lie down without a good fight. If Boston wants it they will will have to take it in Tampa in my opinion. Otherwise say hello wildcard.

To me it doesn't really prove anything...I think if Papelbon was on tonight it would have been a 4-3 Boston victory...the Rays took advantage of a closer who obviously didn't have his best stuff tonight...but congrats on the victory tonight...Sox will win it tomorrow...I still think the Sox will take the division.

September will prove whether the Rays have what it takes to win a division. It won't be easy but they are still the team to beat until someone passes them. We shall see.....

yea they have what it takes to get through the playoffs they are real and its a shocker that they lost like 100 games in 2007. maybe they will go to the world series but if they get eliminated will there opponent be better? i imagine who will defeat rays in the playoffs so i can give them respect they deserve. but i think it may be rays versus mets.
