Two HDTVs, same resolution, one is 10 inches bigger. different size pixils?

wouldn't that make the smaller TV look better? would you then have to sit further back from the big TV to get the same effect, but then the big TV is now the same apparent size as the smaller TV. So do you need to know the distance you'll be sitting from the TV before you choose a size? Is there a standard distance to size ratio that is ideal for best viewing?

Take a look at the attached chart. It's a great guide for viewing distance vs. screen size.

Get the measurements of the TV and buy some painters tape and make an outline of it on the wall and which ever one is more comfortable to look at will be the one to go with. As long as your not two feet from the TV you should be good. I have installed a projector that broadcast an image about 11 feet wide and the seating was only about 6 feet from it and it looked awesome so it shouldn't matter that much. Make sure that it is 1080p though.
