    I dont think anyone here can answer your question if you dont tell us who you are first. Are you a country person? a city person? a mountain, beach, cold, warm person?

    If you want a total change of environment with a different culture from the West. Perhaps you can live in Shangai or some small towns in China. I heard the living standard there is low and you can easily rent a private apartment for S$200.00 per month. Good for short stay and retirement. Retired couples can build a house with little cost to enjoy the beautiful place.
