why can't i download and install yahoo messegner?

I just bought a new Gateway ..with vista..and it seems i'm unable to install messenger.. help!!

    Go here instead of trying to get it from the Yahoo messenger site >> http://www.freecreed.com/ymsgr-archive.html

    I do recommend you get the 8.1.0.421 version as it is the most stable a bug free version of messenger !! I use it on my Vista PC without any problems.

    When you download it just Save it to your Desktop and then run the installer from there.

    Since you are on Vista you will need to Right click on the installer then click "Run as Administrator" to get it to install correctly.
