How can I find out what a 1987 Chevy Nova may be worth? ?

No dings, scratches or rust. 44,000 verifiable original miles. Auto trans. Well cared for...almost new condition. Kbb and NADA don't quote price before 1988.

Update:

None listed on e-bay and I have already looked at Kbb and NADA

Your in luck this site goes to 1987 and the chevy nova is listed. http://www.nadaguides.com/usedcars.aspx?l=7923&w=2... The Nada site lists the 4 door hatchback(5 door) worth- low retail @ 1,325 the average retail@ 2,625 and the high retail @ 3,550. The notchback 4 door is @ 1,275 for low' @ 2,600 for average and @ 3,505 for high

I would still use the sites and do a good guestimate. See what the difference is between a 1989 and 1990. Then deduct that amount from the 1989 price of your car.

I have a question - are you sure it's 44,000 miles??? It's likely the odometer has turned over at least once, maybe two or three times. I'd be wanting proof as to how many miles are on the current engine if it were me looking at the car. Of course, if you're good at working on them maybe you don't care. I'm not, so I'd be suspicious of only 44,000 on a car twenty years old. That's an average of only 2,200 miles per year.

If you're the buyer, be sure to have a good mechanic check it out before you commit to buying it, okay? Private sales are usually as is, so you're up the creek if it's a lemon. Your mechanic can probably also give you an idea of pricing.

My only other thought, is to check local newspaper ads and see if you can find a similar car. When I've looked up cars at Kelly Blue Book, low mileage didn't add that much to the overall price of the car.

Kelly Blue Book online is what I use. Enter all the info on the car and it will tell you what you can sell it for. It will also tell you what the tradein value is. kbb.com
