How old were you on 9/11? What do you remember about it?
I was 9 years old and in 4th grade. I remember that it was a completely normal day, but then suddenly, all of the teachers started acting weird. They were whispering to each other and they all looked really worried, but they wouldn't tell us what happened. Tons of people in my class started getting called down to the office for early dismissal, and we couldn't figure out why so many people's parents were coming to pick them up. The principal came on the intercom and told us that something had happened, but that she didn't want to talk about it, so she told us to talk to our parents about it when we got home. So I finally did get home and my parents were watching the news. That's when I saw the footage of the planes crashing into the World Trade Center. My mom explained to me what happened, and that was when I first learned about terrorists. I remember feeling angry that anyone could be so evil and kill so many innocent people. To this day, I am very thankful that nothing happened to my dad, because at that time, I lived only about 45 minutes away from where the Pentagon was. My dad had used to work at the Pentagon but he had transferred to a different place about a year before 9/11. If he had still worked there he might not be here today...it is truly a blessing that he is still here with us. Since we lived near the Pentagon, a lot of kids that lived in my area lost their parents. :( It was so sad.

I was 20 years old. I had just moved back home because I got knocked up. I remember that day so clearly. My father woke me up for work and immediately showed me the news, a plane hit the WTC. I am so not a morning person and did not understand the importance of it, I had never even heard of the WTC and thought it was an accident. After getting to work, 3 miles away, my coworkers informed me that another plane hit. We listened to everything unfold over the radio, the Pentagon, both towers collapse.
I felt helpless and did not know what to do. I wanted to say, fck this, and leave work. God that was a long day.
Over the couple of few weeks I listened to the news on my Walkman every night while jogging, never under 4 miles. I remember the anger kept me going from all that fatigue from being pregnant.
September 11th changed me. After 9/11, I started to pay attention to the world. It opened my eyes.

I was 23 years old at that time and I was in China at home. It was an evening when my parents were telephoned by my elder sister crying:"Open TV,something happened!".Then my parents opened TV. I was just in bed and heard something not normal and then got up. I saw in the TV showing a building. Then a plane went and hit the building. Although the Disaster seemed so far away from me which I was just at the other edge of the earth, in the end it also affect my life. Just one month after, my boss claimed that all the workers were subjected to decline salaries, because our America investors suffered a great loss and did not have enough money to support the normal salary. Then my boss published an article showing Mourning for the people suffering in the disaster. My boss said at the time the disaster happened,he was also in a plane in America. Only because the tererrism did not choose his plane,so he could live to today.

I was 11. I switched on tv to watch cartoons before I went to school (I was one of those kids who got up early to watch cartoons) and I saw videos of the 1st attack on the world trade centre. I remember being shocked and speechless. I flicked through the channels to verify it was real and it sure was.
It was a terrible thing to happen. I remember going to my parents room and telling them that something bad has happened and they need to look at the tv.
I went to school and there we watched the news. Those attacks were pretty much the only thing on that day. I pretty much watched videos of it the whole day. It was so unbelieveable. I am so angry that this happened.
Thankfully noone I knew died in the attacks, but my heart goes out to the innocent lives that were lost and their families. God bless.

i was 9. i remember being in school and nobody tell me what was happening just that everyone was getting called down, and after constantly asking nobody gave me any information. then me getting called down and coming home to hear the news. i also remember listening to the radio about the collapsed building next door to the twin towers that the south tower landed on, because my sisters father who was a rescue worker there who got trapped with two firemen. i also remember how tight america got how we all came together to give moral support to us new yorkers and Washingtonians and all of the families who lost people that day. weve lost that tightness now and all gone back to fighting with each other.

I was 10 years old. We were at recess at the time it happened. They bought us inside and put us on lockdown. We couldn't even go to the restroom. And if we had to go bad only 1 kid out of each grade was allowed to go potty and had to be escorted by a staff member. We had lunch in the classrooms and we were 2 hours late leaving school
