Are humans the only animals who produce emotional tears?
I've seen a dog with tears, but I'm not really sure why...

Actually Chihuahua's can produce tears when they are whining.
They are one of the only breeds of dogs that can for emotional reasons. Other dogs do based on things like allergies

There is a monkey that produces tears every 7 years or something. Not sure if that was a movie or something.

No i don't think so, many animals express emotion.. and crying is obviously associated with being upset
apparently monkeys and chimps cry when they were separated from their children
i think its a case of the majority of animals cry, but not as many weep like humans do

As far as I know, yes. Most animals only "cry" to cleanse the eyes. I know for a fact chimpanzees don't cry like we do.

This video is part of a show I saw years ago....later in the show they say that elephants cry. It said they can't be certain it is emotional but they think so.
It made me love elephants.

I think some other mammals cry, but not in such an obvious way.
I've heard that cows cry in the slaughter house.

Dogs do it because of allergies, I don't believe any animal can, other than us of course.
