Well, I give my Pizza Delivery Person about $3.00 for delivering my Pizza Pie. I think that's a fair amount for an order of approx. $18.00.
I can get an entire week's worth of food items from the grocery market for only $8.00 delivery charge, so I think I give the Pizza Person a good tip in comparison for delivering just one item.

Not ALL waiters/waitresses make 15%. Some restaurants require it for a certain number of people in a party, some restaurants don't have the required 15% whatsoever. Just thought that I would point that out.
I always tip 15%, no matter what.

If it was a free delivery, then you would get more. Most / all of the delivery charge should be given to the driver in one form or another. It should not be part of the salary since the wait staff get paid a salary. I would push to get the delivery charge. The shop does nothing different than from handling a take out and the charge is affecting your tips. So go for it.

well they chose that career path right
it was implanted in their heads, a chip or w.e that made them
pizza drivers...
people might have limited money, so when they eat out
all they can afford is the food
but don’t the delivers get paid.. if they have a problem
they should take it up with their boss (gas prices w.e)
personally, i wouldn’t tip them more then 3-5$,
but my the place where i get my pizza from Pizza Pizza :D
i got my lil brother who is 15 a job there, soo they know me and when they come to my door i give them almost 10$ tips.
but usually i go and pay... if people have a problem with tips.. tell them to get of their asses drive to the pizzeria and pay themselves... or get on the bus haha
good_question
i'm sending the link to my lil bro!

A tip is to be given when the food is delivered on time, and
the food is acceptable. This may not happen all the time. So,
drivers don't be ticked if you don't get tipped EVER.Find another career. I think tips are ridiculous - this for example causes tension. Just get paid by the hour folks and quit it with all the percentage calculations. Dont need to be putting miles on the car and wasting your own gas. I won't ever tip to make my point.

Sorry about that:( If you had came to me and were polite I would have given you 20%. I worked in a buffet restaurant for 6 years and helped customers tremendously, but they never tipped me either. Hopefully people will see your posting question and think about tipping better the next time they order pizza.

Because they are cheap a---holes, that’s why. They don’t have the common decency to realize the reason for the tip is for them having the convenience of food delivered to their door steps.
The next time you have to deliver to someone you know is a stiffer, once you leave the store take the pizza out of the hot bag and open the box. The pizza will arrive at their home nice and cool. They may call back to complain or they may get pissed enough to stop ordering from your store.

Usually cause it took so damn long to get there, and the prices these days have increased so much, the last you would think of doing is paying the damn pizza company any more than you have to, we are already getting ripped off... If you want the tips, become a waiter!

To be honest, It's because the pizza costs so much we are lucky to afford it.
Pizza drivers need to get more an hour from their place of employment.
