broker is a noun. it is someone who acts as a go-between who generally facilitates the sale of something for a fee or commission. a diamond broker sells diamonds. a real estate broker sells real estate. a stock broker sells stocks. to be more precise, a stock broker facilitates the sale of a stock from one person or entity to another for a fee or commision.
