Nothing cures PMS and I wouldn't take Prozac. There's gotta be something you can take when you have these feelings.

I had them too...including feeling a little paranoid or overwhelmed but have since changed my lifestyle. My period has since disappeared - so now I just have the feelings for two weeks out of the month and no release in hormones.

I don't eat carbs (I am Insulin Resistant thanks to Poly cystic Ovarian Disease). The carbs create more insulin and my body and hormones react in a NEGATIVE WAY - lashing out, mood swings, etc.

I drink a LOT of water. You'd be surprised how dehydration affects your body.

EXERCISE!!!! When I get really Pi$$eD at the world....I go for a jog. It's amazing the difference it makes.

    DON'T drink caffiene.

I understand completely, as I'm sure a million other women do.

First of all I'm well past my PMS days, but I can well remember buying a medication that had "Enjoy a happy period" on the lable. Happy period!!! - I was more likely to rip my uterus out with a chainsaw than have a happy period.

There are several soothing herbs that can help ease the symptoms (there's no cure unfortunately - only time and then you have the "happy" transition into menopause).

    Chief amongst these herbs are:

    Black Cohosh

    Dong Quai

    Evening Primrose Oil

    Chasteberry

    Borage Oil

Boosting your calcium intake is also good idea. Lack of calcium is one of the main contributors to PMS.

I've taken the liberty of adding some products below.

PS: you're not alone. Millions of us stand on the verge of mass murder each and every month.

Get more exercise. I know, that is the last thing people want to hear. It will help, and it is free - at least walking and bike riding. Getting 30-60 minutes a day of exercise will drastically change your situation for the better. Give it a try for 30 days. Drugs are not the answer, they are expensive, have side effects, and don't even solve the problem. Good luck.

Nothing can cure PMS. But it sounds like something else. Keep talking with your doctor, there is probably medication that will help that you have not tried. Mood stabilizers take 2 - 3 months to fully work when taken as directed.

Try the NAPS website (national association of premenstrual syndrome) it has some good advice on there and a forum where you can talk to people with the same problems : )

I found taking vitamin B6 helped. My PMS gradually decreased over three months until it was quite manageable. other people swear by evening primrose oil.

I have also heard that if you eat every 2-3 hours (even if its only a couple of crackers) this will help as leveling your blood sugar helps to even your hormones.
