E. coli is a bacteria that is commonly found in the intestines. It can, in certain situations, find its way to the urinary tract where it causes UTI. This should be treated with antibiotics ASAP. It is painful for the baby, and if the bacteria climb further up the urinary tract, thay can cause bladder infection or kidney infection, which are very serious conditions.
