Do You Find the Microsoft Mojave Experiment Insulting to Your Intelligence?
I've been reading the Mojave blogs along with this one and so badly want to sound off.
The Microsoft Blog, from top to bottom, is a septic tank of misinformation. Microsoft has a long history of disgraceful behaviors and self-serving objectives and this futile public campaign is right on par with their long, distinguished track record.
For starters, it's purely transparent. We have David Webster, a high-level Microsoft manager who is simply another Borg puppet for the Microsoft army of self-serving, profit-seeking, white collar liars and phonies.
His "Vista Blog" begins begins with a T-Rex lie: Microsoft Vista customer satisfaction statistics. According to Borg robot David Webster, Vista has a 90%-plus customer satisfaction establishment. You can read his deep, deep BS here: http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/arc...
I KNOW that Vista does not have a 90% customer satisfaction rating because I know Vista. Yes, I have struggled with it for more than five minutes. No, I am not basing my STRONG opinion of Vista on rumors or advice of friends. I KNOW Vista inside-out; I could write volumes of technical information about all versions. Having stated these things I now state: MICROSOFT VISTA IS PURELY A FAILURE.
I find few things more insulting than despirate corporate measures that assume consumers are idiots. Hey Mr. Webster: IN A PIG'S EYE!!
Microsoft Vista is a bigger failure than Windows Millenium Edition! It is no surprise that Microsoft has moved in entirely wrong directions with Windows evolution and Vista is the latest testimony to Microsoft's ongoing failures.
The Mojave Experiment is a Microsoft campaign where they interview computer-saavy consumers who are anti-Vista. Borg personnel interview these consumers (undoubtably rehearsed, actors playing as common consumers) and ascertain consumer reasons for being anti-Vista. They then reveal a new Microsoft Operating System called "Mojave" and show these folks a phony operating system package for the product (this aspect of the experiment surely comes very naturally for Microsoft - deceiving and misrepresenting consumers). These anti-Vista people then examine laptops with this new "Mojave" operating system and proclaim joy, excitement and approval for the system. Then Microsoft personnel reveal that Mojave is really just Microsoft Vista.
So let's break down Microsoft's marketing campaign: They are implying that anti-Vista consumers are simply ill-informed, prejudice and misguided people who need to be shown how wonderful Vista really is. By disguising it as a new operating system, the prejudices are circumvented and an unbiased judgement of Vista is rendered - and it's all positive.
This pathetic marketing campaign reveals that Microsoft thinks the general public are morons and easily conned. "Vista is not really a piece of garbage. Those are all nasty rumors and we're confronting all of those people that act as bad influences for other, unsuspecting consumers".
Could this corporation possibly be more morally deficient or arrogant? This assumption of lack of intelligence in the wide population of consumers is deeply insulting at best.
The Mojave Experiment - code name "Polish a Turd".
Vista is garbage. It is a tangible testament to the adage: Lots of things work well in theory but not in practice. Vista is a record-breaking pile of over-bloated code built upon good ideas but poorly implemented and integrated. The net result? A Microsoft operating system that has NO PLACE in any office or commercial environment and certainly no place in any consumer's home computer.
Sadly, Microsoft continues with it's anti-trust behaviors by forcing all of the big computer vendors to load new systems with Vista and remove the customer's option to choose Windows XP.
To qualify my comments and sentiments: I am a 15-year IT professional. I am a 4-generation MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) and a 3-generation MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer). I know Microsoft technologies as well as Microsoft Tier-Three technical support engineers and have a long, distinguished and accomplished career as a computer consultant.
I have made a career and lifetime of fortune from Microsoft technologies and believe whole-heartedly that Bill Gates deserves to be in jail. I believe this because it is the truth. Vista is more of the same - Microsoft failures from top to bottom of the corporation and their stubborn commitment to ride it into the ground instead of facing the catastrophic financial losses associated with Vista development. And, as per usual, consumers must suffer for it.
I adamantly advise all of my customers, colleagues and friends to run away from Vista as fast as they can. If you've got a computer with Vista - I PROMISE YOU - it will run so much better with Windows XP. The more powerful, advanced

NJRich, your question is probably up there with one of the best ever posted. If there was a Hall of Fame in writing questions, you are there, at least in my mind. When my Dell Computer mother board blew after 4 years, I was desperate and needed a working computer like yesterday. Each computer I purchased had Vista SP1. I had problems as far as the eye could see. Platforms had been moved out and not completed. The Media Center still cannot support clear Video or sound. Software applications that worked on XP no problem, had drivers that could not find the Vista platforms because they couldn't get there. Even now 3/4 of the XP applications will either not work or have serious problems with Vista-This a lone is a disaster. Many believe it's possible to correct. Not only was I having problems with my XP applications, but also my devices wouldn't work-another disaster. IE7 is a POS, it takes forever to boot up and shut down.
I was also having trouble moving and transferring folders and deleting them. The applications when they ran were and application when they ran, all ran far slower than they ever did on 2000 or XP. I spend more time trying to tweak, tune and work around problems that incidentally still exist-nothing has changed, that I because so much an expert, people were e-mailing all around the world, literally-and I'm not an IT person. I was spending more time doing that than working on applications which is what I purchased my PC for. My service warranty allowed me to ask Microsoft Vista technical questions for 90 days. But when I called Microsoft, they literally told me that was a job of the manufacturer and they would not help me. Total BS, like HP knows SH*** about Vista. Deliberately not backing up their warranty to save money at my expense, blowing me off-another disaster. Fortunately I purchased a computers from Costco, that had a 90 return policy and life time technical service-those tech guys are awesome and they solved a ton of problems, but even with great service like that, Vista was so bad, I Vista couldn't do it-in order to run Vista, I kept trying computers with stronger hardware-another disaster trying to have Vista determine what computer I wanted to run basic software I knew could run on 10 year old technology still can't run using state of the art hardware with Vista. I looked high and low for an alternative. Anything that I found with a Graphics card Nvadia 8600 or above and strong processor would only be sold with Vista. I ended up returning 3 high powered laptops and was also discovering Manufacturer taking their cut saying they would customize computers, but refusing to put in the proper component to make the system to make it would properly. It was clear computer manufacturers were taking their cuts out of it also and providing substandard computers. MS, never provides valid comparisons between XP and Vista, because they know XP has all the features of Vista.
I refused to buy a computer with Vista and then replace it with XP while looking around for the drivers and decided at that time I needed leave MS-If I was going to start from scratch I may as well replace everything with a company doing everything possible to screw me to the floor. I decided it was either Linux or Apple (even though I never thought I would consider and Apple before).
When I saw the hardware the MacBook Pro had, and that Leopard came with bootcamp that allowed me to use XP, I was sold instantly-no need for buying new applications. I bought it at a perfect time when it was selling for $500 off including 3 years warranty including accidental damage . The computer came out far less that a Laptop PCs with parts that were cheaper and worked like throw aways. The software in Leopard completely took me by surprise, it's good and now, there are applications that are a lot better than those that work with Vista or XP-that is a strong credit to Apple. On a Mac, I also got $200 of additional software that Vista doesn't have and the best of all worlds.
When I see questions on social networks like yours (certainly shorter), I see constant posts from what clearly are Microsoft employees trying on every post to change attitudes-it's sickening. "I've never had problems with Vista since I owned it"- yeah and pig fly right-get real! They give thumbs down to every answer that goes against MS market it's trying to get. One guy even admitted on an answer he made, he was looking at every question regarding Vista, working for MS and monitoring Yahoo answers and "trying to help educate" on Vista. Proof MS employees are assigned to camp out on Yahoo Answers. http://answers.yahoo.com/my/qa/index;_ylt=Ap20OLVA...
Here is what MS claims has changed http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/hel... http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/c/6/3c677...
Nothing! meaningless features. For $20 worth of features and all the inconvenience, not only are you hosed, your $300 poorer.
Every change MS makes to Vista, makes more of a memory hog-now it needs 3 GB RAM-up from 512 MB then 1 GB and 2 GB and just to run the latest Applications-not including Older apps that Vista cannot or barely runs. Vista gives users no reason to upgrade in my opinion. Too many people like me who never though they would be using a Mac, are moving to it. Linux OSs are also increase among the techno savvy. MS has put no effort in improving its product and made every effort to try to put lipstick on a pig. Invading social networks, actually lying about hardware requirements need . The problem everyone has is that you don't even know what problems MS was /is working on and if you cannot convince customers something important to then is being addressed you have revolts and outright hatred from its most dedicated fans like me. For MS & Vista as Linux and Mac sales continue to soar, it looks like the ship has already sailed-no question they are getting pounded in the $1000-$3000 market and among students are expected to lose in 3 years to Apple. MS knows it and are see gimmicks like Mojave mean nothing there if 50% of the users hate Vista. I am completely on board with you. None of my relatives or friends have or will ever use Vista and all new computers purchased are Macs. I don't see that changing as long as I'm a live.

Here's what I think of Mojave, using these two key points as a guide:
Microsoft used computers where they controlled the hardware, start to finish.
Microsoft had trained professionals guiding the users through everything.
To me, Mojave (and therefore Vista) is great, _IF_ you treat it like it's a Mac. If you treat it like Windows and try to install it on whatever you want and use parts from all over, it's god-awful. SP1 has been a huge boost, and it works much better now than it did, but it's still in many ways inferior to XP.

(1) technically you are violating Community Guidelines because this is a rant.
(2) I generally agree with you. Microsoft has always had the attitude The User Is Stupid.
(3) the Mojave nonsense of course ignores a major concept "seeing" something is NOT the same as "using."
Anyway, you realize that this rant here is doing nothing but maybe relieving a bit of your frustration over this situation.
(Wasn't it Ballmer that said a few months back, when challenged about the problems with Vista, that it was a "work in progress"? Hmm. Just confirmed one of my suspicions: Microsoft regards the people who buy their products as unpaid Beta Testers.)

Yes they should take "mojave" home and put it on their existing computer. Then they will complain that some of their programs dont' work and that everything seems to run slower.
