Is it true that if elected Palin will be the only V.P. to never have met a foreign leader before the election?
She said "many Vice Presidents have never met a foreign leader before being elected "to Gibson.
Some basic research shows that every Vice President in history has met with foreign leaders during their career, before election, except for her. Was that a lie, or did I miss something in my research? I can't find one VP that did not have some kind of foreign experience before election except for her. Is this really what we want a heartbeat away from being president.
Ok, I checked on Agnew. He served in France and Germany in WWII as a captain, and had to deal with local officials in both countries. As governor of Maryland he also had to deal with foreign leaders because of the Port of Baltimore. I will check Quayle next, maybe right on him

On an MSNBC commentary last night they said it had been 32 years, on ABC they said 36 years.
The 1976 election had Mondale and Dole. Both had extensive foreign policy experience, and had been Senators for many years so I doubt that 32 years is correct.
The 1972 election had Shriver and Agnew. I looked up Shriver and he had been an Ambassador to France.
I would assume that Quayle had met a foreign leader because he had 4 years in the US House and 8 years in the Senate.
At any rate, there's no doubt in my mind that Palin has the thinnest resume of any VP candidate in modern times.

You missed a few things.
I know that several early Vice-Presidents never met a foreign leader until becoming Vice-President. I also do not believe VP Quayle met with foreign leaders until he became VP, nor did VP Agnew.
Edit-Okay, thank you about Agnew. I did forget he was Governor of Maryland. My sincerest apologies.
