iPod Touch second generation comes with sleek new back, along with a different shaped wifi antenna. also it has built in speakers, and volume button controls right on the device. It also comes with the new firmware 2.1, which has the app store, and also a new feature called genius, where the ipod will create a playlist based on whatever song you are listening to. It's also a tiny bit thinner than the first iPod.

The 2nd generation as stated before has a 533mhz processor compared to 412mhz on all of the iphones and 1st generation ipod touch. It's the same cpu but clocked higher. Don't worry about battery life/heat, the 2nd gen ipod touch get's 36 hours of music vs 22 on the 1st gen.

well the main differences is that the 2nd generation ipod touch features external volume controls, an external speaker and contoured back. As well as better battery life and such. There might be others, but thats all I can think of.

2nd generation is cheaper for 8gb and is thinner has nike +ipod thing in it.then it has a volume buttens on the side like an iphone. Also it has a speaker for casual listening so dont expect it to be loud. the first gen ipod touch has none of these stuff above.

it has a built in speaker on the back, and when you rub the sides of it up and down it changes the volume up or down. oh and the metal from the back wraps up a little further so you can see it on the sides of the ipod when you look straight at the ipod. so really its not too much different than the first generation of it.

Not much... The second generation has a built in speaker, and volume controls on the outside, that's it.

The design is a tiny bit different.

I think the 2nd generation holds more stuff, but ask someone who's 100% sure of themselves lol
