Is Google Desktop safe? Which folder does it save the files in the PC? Can its folder be attacked?

Google Desktop keeps the web history. Does it also keep the cookie files?

Does it save the Internet Temp file folder?

Google Desktop keeps a cache of the files you open. Even after the files are deleted or the moved, the cache remains. While it is only a cache thumbnail, the cache thumbnail for a Word document, for example, contains the text of the contents. so, if an attacker can access the cache, he can see the cache of the Word document, which is a text file.

How does Google Desktop protect the folder where it keeps the files, including the cache?

Update:

What is the name of the cache folder and/or file? I intend to delete it.

Will Google Desktop re-creates the folder or file after it is deleted?

Update 2:

Is there any way to protect the Google Desktop folder with a password or encryption?

Google Desktop is safe as far as your account (on your machine) is safe.. If some one have access to your user ID then he would be able to access all the details.

The search history is kept in your accont profile which usually is in C:\Document and Setting\<USERNAME>

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers
