My son of 8 years and I were talking one night, and he says he remembers his first memory, was breathing, he said he woke up one day and couldn't breathing before that time, but remembered that, then I got to thinking I remember my first memory as was blinking, I think I was like 3 or 4 I kept blinking my eyes because I thought they were broken, do you remember your 1st memory at all?

No, but I remember a lot of random incidents and see the pictures before my eyes and even know exactly what i was wearing from age 3 onwards I have back flashes into the past.. I can remember a lot of incicents that happened in my life from when I was 3 years old.. but I couldn't possibly say which was the first..but I can go back to many incidents back to the age when I was 3.. before that I have no memory... xxx

I love the way you phrased your question. Do you remember your first memory? No I don't remember my first memory, only my second, haha.

My first memory is from when I was 6 months old. I was in my pram outside in December taking a nap and it was snowing, and it was the first time I'd seen snow. And I tried to catch it and eat it but couldn't. I also remember they used a pillow as a duvet for me, it was nice and big and thick and kept me warm. My mom believes you should keep a baby outside for an hour every day to make them healthier, that's why I was there.

That would be the first memory you remember... which obviously I remember... (I was being watched by many adults - it was Christmas. Feeling self concious and under pressure to do something, I stuck my finger in the fire to see what happened. What happened was it hurt. I think I was about three.)

However, it is likely if not certain I had memories from before this that were nto encoded strongly and so have decayed. We certainly have short term memory from pretty much the very start, and it is unlikely long term memory suddenly springs into existance one day, so my very first long term memories have probably been forgotten.

Yes. I remember my father leaning over my pram looking down at me. He was dressed in his Royal Marines uniform and I can remember seeing his lance corporals stripe on his sleeve. He was promoted to full corporal when i was about 2 months old so I know I was less than 2 months at the time.
