Where can Saturn currently be found in the sky? (Sep. 15, 2008) Is it visible at night? Where can I find the locations of planets for a particular time period?

Saturn is currently close enough to the sun that it cannot be easily observed by an amateur. It will gradually rise earlier each morning before sunrise for the next several months.

You can find the locations of the planets and many other objects each night by accessing the free download at stellarium.org

saturn is currently behind the sun and is not visible.

check the charts in the current issue of sky & telescope, or use the online star chart thingy on their web site.

It's up during the daytime--- you can download the free software Stellarium which will show you the sky for any date or time.

It is in the constellation Leo.

Source(s): So who is the idiot that gave me a thumbs down? Saturn is in Leo. I observed it last April 28th from the clear, dark skies of Yuma, Arizona. It was within 30' of Regulus. It should still be close to Regulus given that it takes over two years to traverse the constellation.
