Help! Unique ideal for 50th birthday?
My fiance' will be 50 in January and I want to do something unique and special for him, but I don't want to give him a party because that is so cliche'. I'll let someone else do that! I want to do something romantic, special and unique? Any suggestions?
That was not necessary for you to respond that way. I am very aware of what both words mean. It was a typo. If that is all you had to say, then you should not have responded. Keep your rude thoughts to yourself.

If you live in Bristol you have an ideal. So there!
Make a treasure hunt for him ending up in the place you first met, you could give him a little gift everytime he finds a clue.

I usually let this stuff slide, but with this one I just can't - especially if you're old enough to have a 49 year old fiance'.
The word you are looking for is "idea", not "ideal".
Idea is a thought someone has. Example: "I have an idea."
Ideal is a something that represents the best way to do something or handle something. Example: "The ideal way to learn to drive a manual transmission would not include the phrase 'grind it 'till you find it'."
EDIT: Sorry. After looking over my answer to you and my answers today, I realized that two of them were uncalled for. It's the end of my work day right now, but I'll try to come back tomorrow and provide a better answer.
