How do you get blood stains out on a white dress shirt?

Update:

Blood got on the shirt while trying to clip our puppies nails :(

    Try hydrogen peroxide on a spot where it won't show. Place paper towels or a white folded towel under the shirt and rub the peroxide on the spot. Then wash in cold water.

    If the stain is not old, you can spray with shout or spray and wash and wash in cold water. What ever you do, do not use heat or dry in dryer until the stain is out.
