Why do people look different in mirror and cameras?
I don't know if its just me, but I look different in mirrors. ESPECIALLY in cameras.
Is the camera or mirror more accurate?

No. A mirror gives you a... mirrored image, where your left becomes your right and vice-versa. A photo gives you an actual image, where your left is still your left.
You may think that our body is symmetric, but it's not, there are small differencies in the two sides of our body, which is why the images are different :)

When looking into the mirror your picture is mirrored, when taking a picture with the camera it is not - that makes quite a difference.
A webcam on the monitor filming you won't serve you as a mirror when comping your hair because you have the impression that the wrong hand is used.
A mirror would be more accurate - it's life size.

well cameras change the perspective of how you appear. If you zoom in far to someone they will appear flatter, and if you zoom really far out/wide to someone they will appear more 3d and distorted. Mirror's arent always flat, and the only time you've seen yourself is in cameras and mirrors so how do you know you look different than you actually do? you have nothing to relate it to.

We have an image of ourselves and that is what our mind carries. When you see it in a camera or mirror you can't see it.
I remember when I was about 30...my grandmother told me....Susanna...when I look in this mirror I see an old woman. I am not that woman that is staring back at me. I see a young woman just starting out in life....because I feel YOUNG inside...I am shocked all the time when I see these wrinkles and that old woman staring back at me. Wait until you are older..you will understand.
YOu know what? I see the same thing my grandmother did. I am 60 and I even though I don't think I look 60...when I look at pictures of me I hate it. WHO IS THAT?
It is in our minds...our image is what we have of ourselves.

because the camera has a concave in the Lens, which is because the Lens curves and makes your face look longer or wider, and mirrors are not accurate at all, they misshape your face, there is really no way to see yourself in a 100/100 accurate way, only other humans can, sometimes.

Trust the Mirror, Cameras show a slightly blown up image of you, and its not that accurate.

phisically it depends on the the light the things u wear the decoration of the place the differnt times of photo because every year there will be achange in ur appearance especially if u r young still growing up

That's exactly what happens to me! I look amazingly beautiful in my bathroom mirror. In my bedroom mirror, I look nasty. And in the school mirror I look like a fat, lardy ugly, monster. It all depends on the lighting.

Hey, I think it has something to do with faces not being perfectly symmetrical and your actually seing the oppisite to what you normally see, so it just seems a little strange. Have you tried filming your reflection? It should seem normal I guess haha.

Camera is. A mirror turns everything around from how people see you cause it's a reflecting image. A camera takes a photo dead on and the same way as people view you.
