Where would you recommend for a great steak place?
With all the local restaurants (Outback, Chillies, Black angus, TGIF and such) Which place has the best steak size-wise? My roommate and I are on a hunt for the Best steak place, We are tired of eating a steak that is smaller than the baked potato (Like sizzler and such) The price does not matter, we just want to find a good steak place.
Thanks

Actually, Fred is wrong about Lawry's. Lawry's doesn't serve steak. They only serve prime rib, which is what they're famous for.
The best steakhouse in Southern California I've been to is Cut (and I've been to lots of them, including Ruth's Chris, Mastro, Pacific Dining Car, Arroyo Chop House, Nick and Stef's, etc.). Can be really, REALLY expensive, but they have some of the finest beef in the world
BOA Steakhouse also has a really good steak. They have 2 SoCal locations (West Hollywood and Santa Monica), but I've only been to one of them. They dry age their beef 45 days, so the beef flavor in their steaks is really intense. Also pretty expensive.
For a bargain, go to Porterhouse Bistro in Beverly Hills. They have a really good fixed price menu of $43.20 per person which includes 4 courses and 2 drinks. Their beef isn't quite as high quality the others (I think it's USDA Choice instead of USDA Prime, but it's still good quality and a great bargain, considering what you get. The really nice thing is that if you don't consider the steak on the fixed price menu big enough, you can substitute a bigger steak for more money, so you have a lot of flexibility in what size you get.

Morton's is a chain that serves great steak - they have locations in LA and OC.
Ruth's Chris serves a good steak
A place in Costa Mesa called La Cave is fantastic. Small - not widely knows and DELISH! Great cuts of meat

If price really isn't an issue, go to Morton's in downtown LA.
735 South Figueroa Street
Suite 207
Los Angeles, CA 90017

There's one in Orange County..but I know it's a chain. My favorite steak EVER is the tri tip at Woodranch. They slow cook it for 16 hours I think. Very tender and sooooooo good.
Morton's burnt our steak last time we went..

Great Steak and Potatoes is one of the best places in the mall. My personal favorite is the Hawaiian ham sandwich which is to die for. I would highly recommend that anyone try Great Steak and Potatoes at least once.
