    well hi.

you wanna change your lap top's CD rom right?

well you may wanna go to the shop where you gonna buy the CD-ROM, and let them change it or if you wanna change it yourself, you may wanna look at your product manual on opening your laptop's casing. well if you dont have those you can look for it online

here is the site for your laptop if it is Intel: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product...

and here is the site if your computer is AMD: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product...

Just click on the Manuals Link and it will provide you all the info about replacing hardwares or any thing on your laptop.

    Hope this helps.

look on the bottom of your latop there will be cd icon somewhere imprinted in the bottom case. It will point to a screw and you have to take that screw out and then push in on the cd tray and it will pop out. If it does not pop out than insert a paper clip into the hole in the cd tray cover and it will pop open and pull on it jently outward. Make sure you take the screw out before pulling on it like this. Make sure you get the exact same optical drive or one that is compatable with your model from the manufacturer because unlike a desktop pc where virtually any optical drive is inter changeable it is not the case with laptops. I've seen where a optical drive causing strange problems. Good luck.
