Some of my favorite books are Confessions of a Shopaholic, White Oleander, The Cry of the Icemark, and The Luxe.

It all depends on what books you like, and the style of writing that suits you. If you can handle slightly more mature themes, I would read the Perks of Being a Wallflower. It is written in the perspective of a 9th grader, so the words and plot are pretty easy to follow.

    Hi!

The House on the Borderland , written by William Hope Hodgson .

"In 1877, two gentlemen, Messrs Tonnison and Berreggnog, head into Ireland to spend a week fishing in the village of Kraighten. While there, they discover in the ruins of a very curious house a diary of the man who had once owned it. Its torn pages seem to hint at an evil beyond anything that existed on this side of the curtains of impossibility. This is a classic novel that worked to slowly bridge the gap between the British fantastic and supernatural authors of the later 19th century and modern horror fiction. Classic American horror writer H. P. Lovecraft lists this and other works by Hodgson among his greatest influences."

Lord of the flies- William Golden , The thief of always- Clive Barker, The haunting of hill house - Shirley Jackson, To kill a mockingbird (the woman's name is on the tip of my tongue) but that's some to start with that will pass 8th grade inspection. Harper Lee wrote the 3rd book - very good.

A Series of Unfortunate Events, dude. You have to get deeper into the book to get into the interesting part.

Source(s): Do you play any online games, like Club Penguin, Poptropica, Neopets, Halo, etc.

Well if you're into books with a lot of meaning but still good plot and all that, I suggest Of Mice and Men.

If you're like me and like short books, its perfect :D

Its only maybe 100 pages or less, I don't remember...

    Full of great meaning!

Flowers for Algernon is a really good book, and it would be a good idea to read it now because you'll probably have to read it in High School.
